Dr Raphael Fraser – FRANZCP

Dr Raphael Fraser FRANZCP trained in Auckland, New Zealand, and has been a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists since 2006. He has lived in the Blue Mountains since 2007, and worked in the public mental health service in Blacktown and then the Blue Mountains from then until 2019, when he entered full-time private practice.

He is experienced in all aspects of general psychiatry across the age range from late teens to old age. He has worked in acute community and inpatient psychiatry in Auckland, Blacktown, and the Blue Mountains, but for the last six years has been primarily focused on the longer-term recovery side of psychiatry.

Raphael is passionate about the importance of humanity and connection with others for mental well-being, and the place of rational and evidence-based psychiatric care, hand-in-hand with lifestyle and person-centred approaches.

Outside work, his passions are his family, karate-do, running, photography, music, and magic.
