Dr Raj Chalasani

Dr Raj Chalasani is a Retinal Specialist with an interest in macular diseases. Raj was born and educated in Sydney. He completed his undergraduate medical training at the University of NSW, graduating with first class honours. Advanced specialist training in ophthalmology was undertaken at Sydney Eye Hospital and the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne. This was followed by advanced fellowship training in Medical Retina and Uveitis at Bristol Eye Hospital, United Kingdom.

Raj is experienced in the medical management of common and challenging aspects of retinal and inflammatory eye disease, particularly macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal vascular disease. He is a staff specialist at Westmead Hospital in Sydney, and has been actively involved in a number of major international clinical trials studying retinal disease.
